I just woke up a half hour ago. I slept through most of the night. Mom just called to check on me and I am being rocked by the nurse. The nurse calls me her cuddle bug. I was weighed last night and I am now 6 pounds! My breast milk went up to 15.6 cc's per hour. I am still on continuous drip through the tube in my nose. My TPN is down to 3.3 cc's per hour. I am not sure I like it in my new pod. I don't have my own room anymore and it sure is loud in here. The little preemie girl next to me makes her monitor beep all the time. Yesterday my mom came back from lunch with my Great Grandpa and Grandma Robke and I was crying. I had pulled the tube out of my nose. It was hard for Mom and my great grandparents to watch the nurse put it back in. His first try did not work. He had the tube in, but it had folded inside. I think my nasal passage and throat got pretty scratched up. I was crying like my mom had never heard before. Mom was very upset and told the nurse to add some ointment onto the tube like she has seen them do before. He did and it slide in much easier. I also got some sugar water to help calm me down.
I am hoping for an increase in my feeds again today. I'll keep you posted.
Love, Ben

Good Morning Beautiful Baby,
Grandma & Grandpa and Aunt Diane & Uncle Tom enjoyed visiting with you and your mommy and daddy last night. We were so upset when your mom told us what happened to you yesterday. We don't like it when you cry. We are so glad you are gaining weight and getting stronger each day. Soon you will be home. Love you bunches & God Bless, Grandma Carol and Papa Phil
Oh Peanut Butter!
Quit pulling that tube out of your nose. I know you don't like it, but very soon it will be totally out, hold on a little bit longer! Can't wait to see you at home very soon! Tell those other babies to be quiet so you can rest. All the more motivation to get out of there and go home! Love you lots! Auntie Annie
Hey Ben,

Hey crazy boy,
you really need to stop pulling that tube out of your nose. You are probably just trying to tell the nurses you are ready to go home, you sneaky guy. Well I am going to try and come see you tonight, if not definitely this weekend. I am so happy to hear about your progress, i knew you were a champ!

Hey Ben,
Six pounds...you are PHAT* 8o)
Sorry to hear about your roommates. Hopefully, things will calm down around you. Just want you to know that you are thought about and prayed for daily. Our Bubba started track practice this week, and I instantly thought about my Ben and all the hurdles he's jumped. Keep up the good work. Mary-Mary and da Boyz
*The term Phat: An adjective mainly used decreasingly in pop culture to express approval. Hence, someone or something that is phat could be entertaining, intelligent, attractive or otherwise to be admired. (Ben is all of the above.)
Hey Ben, it's me again, Aunt Carin. I have a sore throat so I'm going to keep my distance until next week, just to make sure you stay healthy.
That's super stinky about the tube - stinky that you pulled it out, but even stinkier that the male nurse couldn't figure out something so simple. But remember, not everyone is as smart and kind as your mom. I've been taking kick-boxing classes and I'll show your mom a couple of moves so she can take him out next time he comes around!
As for the roommates, sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel better, most of us are surrounded by annoying people we can't get away from. Your mom used to sit next to a guy who...well, I'll let her tell you that story. As long as the roomies don't make you gag, you'll be okay :-)
I love that the nurses think you're a "cuddle bug" and you call yourself a "ladies man" - you crack me up! I think you've got your parents' sense of humor, that's for sure.
See you soon!
love, hugs & cuddle bugs, xoxo
Hey Ben,
Great news that you are getting bigger every day! Sorry I haven't checked in lately, since I've learned to ride my new bike all I want to do is be outside! My mom says I'm making her crazy because she can't get anything done around the house! Sounds like you are doing a good job of keeping your mom on her toes...although you should probably leave that nose thing in!
Keep up the good work!
Your friend, Cameron
Oh, and one more thing - your new picture (the first one) is GORGEOUS! Love you! Aunt C
