Home Run!

It is official! I am going home today! I am so excited to see the world. Mom and Dad are so ecstatic to put me in my car seat for that first ride home. They are ready to give up the studio apartment at Beaumont. We want to thank all of the great nurses and doctors that have watched over me the past 6 1/2 weeks. They have really done an outstanding job caring for me. Mom said she is nervous because now it will just be her and Dad taking care of me. Her full time "nannies" won't be around at night. Mom said it is a bittersweet moment because this has been our life for the past month and a half, but she is ok with saying goodbye to it. Dad, Mom, and I want to thank all of our family, friends, and new people that have walked into our lives for their awesome support. We are so grateful to have you all in our lives.

I will be going to U of M May 1st for my first meeting with Dr. Nasr.

It's a beautiful day, Ben

Ben, you are AWESOME!

Congratulations on going home - now here are some things you have to know before you go:

1) Allergies - they're pretty bad this year, so when you hear a lot of "waaaachooo," allergies are what is causing it
2) Cats - they will likely smell you a lot and rub their bellies on your head when you're on the floor. DO NOT PULL THEIR TAILS!
3) The floor - this is going to be a pretty important place for you for the first few months. You will see a lot more feet and a lot less faces, but you'll adapt. People will appear taller than what you're used to
4) TV - you're gonna love it! Be sure to watch the Tiger's game Saturday and look for dad!
5) Peace & quiet - there will not be any more beeping and buzzing. I hope you enjoy the silence!

Keep eating and growing and sleeping and pooping (dad loves to change your diapers, I could tell!) and getting stronger every day!

I love you! xoxo, Aunt Carin

Good Morning Beautiful Benjamin,

We are so happy that you are finally going home. Papa Phil got you a home-run baseball from yesterday's Tiger game (your daddy gave him the tickets). Soon you'll go to the games with your dad - he's been a crazy Tiger fan since he was a little guy. You will love your home, your own crib, your bedroom, and the cats too. We love you so much. Cousins Joshua and Madeline have been waiting to meet you and are so excited. God Bless you sweet baby, Love you bunches, Grandma Carol & Papa Phil XOXOXOXOXOXO

Welcome Home Ben!!
Dave and I have been following your progress on this blog and are happy you have reached a point of going home. Our thoughts go out to your mom and dad. Their job requires special patience and love. I have written a prayer for you that I say everyday so God will protect you throughout life and for you to continue to get stronger.

Love,
Linda and Dave Randazzo (friends of Grandma Carol and Papa Phil)

PS. If you are lucky you won't even need to sleep in your own bed like my grandchildren Landon and Anna at that age. You can just sleep in mom or dad's arms. That is so comforting.

Ben,

WOO HOO!! You're going to love it outside of the Beaumont studio apt. Tell your Mom to give my Mom a call if she's up and wants to chat between 2am and 3am because my Mom is usually up then, too!

Love,
Chase

Hey Handsome! Awesome about finally breathing fresh outdoor air, bless your heart, we have been all praying for your release and the day has come. Congrats to you Ben and all the work you have done to get to that stage. Your Mom and Dad, finally your son is in your home; already a bonus there so Mom and Dad can now be with you along with the support and love from everyone.
Some of us will not be able to see you for awhile, however we are in spirit everday thinking about your folks and family everyday.

With love and hugs
Jamie Normie and Riley (the cat) Rapson (achooey)
