Ben's Buddies Detroit Riverfront Great Strides Walk is this Saturday, May 21st. Check in is at 10am and the walk will begin at 11am. The forecast is partly sunny and 75. Great Strides raised over $35 million in 2010. These funds are vital to support the research of new treatments and drugs that will help me live a long and healthy life. In case you missed it there have been some ground breaking achievements in treating the basic defect of CF. A drug named VX-770 actually corrects the defect for people with a certain mutation. Unfortunately it isn't mine, but we are hopeful that this will pave the way for others to follow. Until now, all of the medications treat the symptoms rather than target the cause.
